So, Who Have The Instrument To Measure Mass Of The Earth

So, anybody has the the instrument to measure mass of our earth? No one of course! So, why we know that the mass of our earth has the value 5.9736×10^24 kg? Is it fall from the sky? Or it is from epigraphy? Or it carved on legendary stone?
Nope! Of course no!
So, from where people know the mass of the third planet after the sun?
It was started by someone, he was sitting down below apple tree. He fall asleep and then suddenly waken up by a drop-apple to his head. I don’t know why he suddenly thinking about why apple fall to ground, not fall to sky.
Now, who was him? A man who was not unlucky because he was fallen by an apple?

Yup! He was Sir Isaac Newton! Because of a naughty apple, Newton was able to find correlation between earth and things that around it. So do like moon and earth, sun and earth, sun and other planets and of course the mass of the earth..
Sir Isaac Newton derivate a complex formula to find earth and thing around it in mathematical expression. The result is Newton law. There are three.
The first is “sigma F = 0″ which means when force that work on a thing is zero, then the thing will stay motionless or keep moving with constant velocity.
Next is “sigma F = m . a” which means an acceleration (a) on a thing is linier with force that work on it and oppose with mass of the earth. Acceleration direction same with acceleration direction.
The last one is “F act = – F react ” which means “If you push a wall with a certain force, then wall will push you with the same force just like you did it before”.
Hmmm…. So where are the formula to calculate mass of the earth? Now we come to main problem! Newton said that “every particle in the universe always attract other particle with the force which its value is linier with mass of that particles and oppose with quadrate of its distance.”
Mathematically, like this:
F = G (m1. m2 / r^2)
F = force between m1 and m2 (N)
m1, m2 = mass of the particle (kg)
G = Gravitational Constant = 6,673 * 10^-11 Nm^2/kg^2
r = Distance between particles
On this problem, we will determine that
F = G (m1. M / r^2)
M = (F/m1) (r^2/G)
F/m1 = 9.8 m/s^2
R earth = 6,4 * 10^6 m
G = 6,673 * 10^-11 Nm^2/kg^2
Input it… And then you will find the mass of the earth : 5.9736×10^24 kg.

Earth Inside – Chemical Edition

From the latest post, i have been discussing about what inside of earth, and of course, Mount Chimborazo, Ecuador that make you astonished and say: awesome! Is this one of a earth’s wonder? (For who don’t know what happened in Mount Chimborazo, Ecuador, see my previous post – ??? or you can read here: the farthest place of the earth because the rotational of the earth)
Now, who know the mass of the Earth? Bingo! The answer is approximately 5.98 x 10^24 kg. Whooaaa!!! It is so heavy isn’t? Can’t you still figuring out? It means 5.980.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 kg! What can you imagime it? What is the term for it? Of course, there is no money that can compete that number. If there is, who? no one isn’t it? But there is One…. Do you know who? Our God! Bingo!
Like our body, Earth has a composition too, and it composed mostly by
iron 32,1%
oxygen 30,1%
silicon 15,1%
magnesium 13,9%
sulfur 2,9%
nickel 1,8%
calcium 1,5%
alumunium 1,4%
trace amounts of other elements 1,2%
While our Earth core region composed by
iron 88,8%
nickel 5,8%
sulfur 4,5%
trace elements 1%
At earth’s crust, there is a little more than 47% “thing” that we need everyday, Oxygen. Man who research about earth’s crust was F. W Clarke. He uncovered too that the more common rock constituents are nearly all oxides: chlorine, sulfur and fluorine. This oxides are important exceptions to this and their total amount in any rock (ussually much less that 1%). So, the rock near your house consist of chlorine, sulfur and fluorine. The other 99% more are in below (detail) :

Earth Inside – Shape Edition

Thanks to God that we live at here, Earth, because our planet is a terrestrial planet (rocky body) and is the largest of the four solar terrestrial planets (What is the other planets? Admin don’t know. Please help me then…). Earth also has the highest density, the highest surface gravity and the strongest magnetic field. This is can hold us above the earth and not just let us flying in zero gravity.
Oblate spheroid is the shape of our earth, so it is not all-round. In center, called equator is bulge around (up to100 meters). Its diameter is 12.472 km. If you wan a specific value, take a calculator; 40.000 km/3.14 (Long enough huh? But it’s said that our artery if it extended outward, its length can be reached 5 times around Earth = 5 * 12.472= 62360 km! Amazing !).
Mount Everest and the Mariana Trench make a record that in that place, occur the largest deviations. The rotational of the earth creates equational bulge so that equational diameter is 43 km larger than the pole to pole diameter. If you want to the farthest place of the earth (Which means the farthest from the center of the earth), you must go to Mount Chimborazo, Ecuador.

(Ohhhh, i hope i can get there and take a picture in Mount Chimborazo! Or if i request, can someone send me a picture him or her?) It is because a perfect ellipsoid that compared with Earth, which has a tolerance of abut one part in about 584 or 0.17% which is less that the 0.22% tolerance allowed in billiard balls (source: wikipedia).
